Energy concept

Our project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the State of Brandenburg.

Our goal: An ecological, CO²-neutral industrial and commercial park

The industrial and commercial park planned on the site of the former Cottbus-Drewitz airfield is intended to meet the requirements for sustainable, CO2-neutral industry and commerce. To this end, renewable energy will be generated locally on the airfield site and made available to the industries and businesses that will be located there. Surplus energy will be distributed and utilized in the region. Renewable energy will be sourced locally as needed.

Such a concept could serve as a model for other regions and serve as a blueprint for numerous projects to transform commercial and industrial areas. As part of the concept development, a preliminary review of the technical, economic, and legal feasibility was required. The project examined the various framework conditions for the energy concept from an energy management and legal perspective. This project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the State of Brandenburg.

Our result: An exemplary energy concept

An energy concept for the development of a green industrial park was developed. This holistic energy concept encompasses renewable energy generation and the use of the generated energy on-site. The energy supply is conceived holistically and includes electricity and heat supply as well as the provision of mobility applications, thus creating an integrated overall energy concept. Although the energy concept essentially depicts the feasibility of a green industrial park on the site, it is possible to derive generally applicable findings and necessary adjustments – particularly to the legal framework.
