The Project
Euromovement Energiepark GmbH is developing a pioneering industrial and commercial area on the site of the former Drewitz airfield near Cottbus, covering a total area of around 206 hectares. Part of the site is designated for the generation of renewable energy — wind power, photovoltaics, and hydrogen. This creates the opportunity to supply the location with CO₂-neutral energy — directly on site, reliably, and sustainably.
The plan is to establish a center for future-oriented technologies, specifically targeting companies that pursue resource-efficient and emission-free production processes. The concept goes beyond pure production: logistics will also be an integral part of the ecological overall strategy — through the consistent use of electric and climate-neutral mobility solutions. A key element is the planned electrified freight terminal, with a length of 800 meters, which is already being supported with public funds from the Structural Strengthening Act “Coal Region Lusatia.” The planning is being carried out in close coordination with Deutsche Bahn; commissioning is scheduled for 2028.

Energy concept
The industrial and commercial area covers approximately 206 hectares. In cooperation with the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility (IKEM), the Reiner Lemoine Institute (RLI), and BBH Consulting AG (BBHC), we are developing our own ecologically sustainable energy concept. The preliminary assessment of the technical, economic, and regulatory feasibility of the energy concept is being funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the State of Brandenburg.
Attractive funding
Every company settling on the site has the opportunity to make use of funding programs, such as the GRW-G program. This funding initiative was launched by the Brandenburg Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy to support projects that contribute to reducing energy-related CO² emissions throughout the state of Brandenburg. The funds are provided through the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB).

Legally binding development plan; total area approx. 206 ha (expansion potential approx. 64 ha)
-
up to hazard class III, partly class IV
-
multi-track freight yard with shunting track for electric freight traffic with direct connection
-
95% industrial area
-
Site coverage ratio (GRZ): 0.8
-
Building heights up to 35 m, in exceptional cases up to 150 m (e.g., technical facilities)

-
approx. 400 ha of already secured green and compensatory areas
-
Affordable power supply: a dedicated site network is planned (private closed distribution network as a virtual power plant) with partial self-supply from renewable energy systems (e.g., wind, PV, battery storage), the reconversion of process heat into electricity, or the use of by-products generated on site
-
projected total investments of over 1 billion euros in the next 10 years
-
creation of around 1,000 new jobs at the site
Planning
In February 2022, in close cooperation with the municipality of Jänschwalde and the Peitz administrative office, the legally binding development plan “Industrial and Commercial Park Jänschwalde” was adopted. On June 26, 2025, the resolution on the 1st amendment was also passed unanimously — with the goal of making land use even more efficient and attractive.
Planning support: SOLTKAHN AG

The Location
The site is located on the Drewitz airfield in the municipality of Jänschwalde (Peitz administrative office, Spree-Neiße district) in Brandenburg — just a few kilometers northeast of Cottbus. The “Jänschwalde-Ost” railway stop is within walking distance, approximately 800 meters south of the site.
